Join Merrimack Parks and Recreation and Author/Presenter Martin Gitlin for a fun and enlightening program that will really entertain!
Take a fun and nostalgic journey through the most iconic and greatest era of rock-and-roll history with author and pop culture historian Marty Gitlin. This presentation highlights performance videos of influential British Invasion superstars such as the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Kinks, Hollies, Dave Clark Five and The Who as well as American bands that provided a wonderful reply such as the Beach Boys, Mamas and Papas, Temptations, Simon & Garfunkel, Turtles and Rascals. The program also discusses how these artists influenced pop culture and society, compares and contrasts the music, and includes trivia questions for patrons to ponder (including snippets of songs from which patrons must identify the band!). The presentation will conclude with a question-and-answer period. This program is a lot of fun so join in!
Program will take place at the John O' Leary Center. Coffee and Snacks will be provided!

Make your child's interest in video games a fun social experience! Participants will have an exciting evening with peers playing Nintendo Switch multiplayer games such as Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros and other various games, a pizza dinner is included too!
Program is held in the Function Hall at Wasserman Park. Advanced registration is required and spaces are limited.
Participants may bring their own Nintendo Switch to connect with other players if they choose to.

Safe Sitter® prepares students in grades 6-8 to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. The lessons are filled with fun activities and role-playing exercises. Students learn how to prevent unsafe situations and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies. Participants will learn tips to manage behavior along with the ages and stages of child development. Class will also include rescue skills such as choking rescue and CPR and how to assess and respond to injuries and illnesses. Lastly this course will teach participants how to screen jobs, discuss fees, and greet employers to set students up for success now and in the future. Students practice these skills through various role plays.

Your mission: explore the park on foot, uncover hidden clues, and capture creative photos of special items. Each discovery earns points, so teamwork and strategy will be key. The first three families to reach 150 points or more will each win a 17-pound Thanksgiving turkey — perfect for your holiday table!
Come for the adventure, stay for the friendly competition, and leave with memories — and maybe a turkey! Don’t miss this festive, photo-filled scavenger hunt.

Do you like to spend time outdoors? Accidents happen; if you or someone in your group got hurt, would you know what to do? People get hurt, sick, or lost. Many back country emergencies are preventable and even when bad things happen, sometimes the wrong care can make things worse.
Wilderness First Aid is the perfect course for the outdoor enthusiast or trip leader who wants more than basic level of first aid training for short trips with family, friends, and outdoor groups. The 16 hour long (two-day) program focuses on the skills of: Response and Assessment, Musculoskeletal Injuries, Environmental Emergencies, Survival Skills, Soft Tissue Injuries, and Medical Emergencies.
Those who complete the course and pass the written and practical skills will receive a Wilderness First Aid certification from SOLO which is valid for 2 years. SOLO is among the leaders in Wilderness Medicine Training and certification. Coffee and snacks will be provided each day.

Come and join Merrimack Parks & Recreation and Staff from Camp Naticook during this no school day camp program with activities designed to keep your children busy and entertained all day long.
We will spend our day at Wasserman Park where children will participate in a variety of sports, games, arts & crafts projects, nature exploration, outdoor activities and much more.
A daily hot lunch is included in the cost of your tuition. Advanced registration is required and spaces are limited. Pick up and drop off at Wasserman Park - no bus transportation provided.

Boston Pops Holiday Concert

The Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra and Conductor Keith Lockhart return to SNHU Arena for their sparkling and beloved HOLIDAY POPS CONCERT on Sunday, December 7th.
The Boston Pops will perform their signature “Sleigh Ride,” as well as other holiday classics, and new arrangements of seasonal favorites. Santa Claus himself will make a guest appearance during the concert’s finale followed by the traditional Boston Pops Holiday Sing-a-long to bring this special performance to a close.
The Parks & Recreation Department has been able to secure a limited number of tickets is Section 126, Rows, N, P & Q. Seats are sold on a first come first serve basis and we do expect to sell out.
