Recreation Program Coordinator
Megan became the new Recreation Program Coordinator for the Town of Merrimack’s Parks and Recreation Department starting in mid-January 2017. She recently graduated from the University of New Hampshire in Durham with a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Management and Policy and a minor in Environmental Conservation and Sustainability. In the past she has worked at the Sandwich, Massachusetts Parks & Recreation Department, the Exeter NH Parks & Recreation Department and the Concord NH Parks & Recreation Department.
Megan considers herself a true outdoors person and loves hiking, camping, and kayaking. She is extremely excited to explore the area and start working for the Recreation Department.

Matt Casparius, CPRE
Director of Parks & Recreation
Matt became the Director of Parks & Recreation for the Town of Merrimack on January 1st, 2014. Prior to coming to Merrimack; Matt served as the Director of Parks & Recreation for the Town of Manchester-by-the-Sea in Massachusetts for 8 years where he spent considerable time growing a small town Department into a successful self-supporting operation. Matt spent 4 years working for the Town of Brookline, MA and 2 years working for the Town of Lexington, MA.
Matt graduated from Green Mountain College in Poultney, Vermont with a Bachelors Degree in Recreation & Leisure Studies and holds the CPRE designation which stands for Certified Parks & Recreation Executive. This is a mastery level certification that can only be earned thru years of experience and a rigorous exam process. Currently fewer than 200 Parks & Recreation Professionals in the country have this certification.
Matt is active in the Parks & Recreation Field and has served on numerous board and Committees. Currently he is serving on the Executive Board of the New Hampshire Recreation & Park Association.
Matt is an avid Red Sox Fan; and a long time Instructor for the American Red Crossl. He lives in Londonderry with his wife, son and daughter.
