|WILDERNESS FIRST AID|
The Merrimack Parks & Recreation Department has teamed up with SOLO (Stonehearth Open Learning Opportunities) School who are nationally recognized leaders in the field of wilderness medicine and rescue to provide affordable wilderness medical training close to home.
Accidents happen. People get hurt, sick, or lost. The temperature drops, the wind picks up, and it starts to rain. Would you know what to do? Many backcountry emergencies are preventable and even when bad things happen, sometimes the wrong care can make things worse. By learning a few basic skills, you can make the difference between a good outcome and a bad one and maybe even save a life.
The minimum age is 16 if the participant is by themselves or 14 if they have an adult with them.
For information on SOLO, visit their website
Course Requirements: Participant MUST have current CPR certification upon completion of course. If you do not already hold this certification an optional Adult CPR Recertification Course will be offered on Saturday evening for an additional fee of $50.
