The Parks and Recreation Department is now accepting application for the following positions for Summer 2018!
Assistant Camp Director: (Full-Time Seasonal)
The Assistant Camp Director assists the Camp Director with the oversight and management of all aspects of Naticook Day Camp. The Assistant Direct will assist the Camp Director in planning, supervising and leading Naticook Day Camp; supervising a staff of 40 employees and will be responsible for camper behavior management. Applicant must be at least 21 years of age.
Senior Camp Counselors: (Camp Trek Program) (Full-Time Seasonal)
Senior Camp Counselors are primarily responsible for the care of their children in the Camp Trek Program. Campers in the Camp Trek program spend 2 days per week at Wasserman Park participating in traditional day camp activities and then 3 days per week off-site on field trips to destinations around New Hampshire. Counselors are responsible for supervising their assigned campers both in camp and on field trips.
Special Needs Aides: (Full-Time Seasonal)
Are primarily responsible for working in a 1:1 or 1:2 setting with a child who has Special Needs. The goal of the person in this position is helping to integrate the assigned child into the Day Camp Program. Requires the ability to be creative in the integration of assigned camper (s) adaptability, enthusiastic, friendly and dependable, achieve assigned camper (s) developmental objectives goals. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
Water Safety Instructors: (Full-time Seasonal)
Water Safety Instructors are responsible for teaching group swimming lessons to children on Lake Naticook according to American Red Cross Swimming Lesson Standards. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age and be certified as a American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, or equivalent; candidates with Lifeguard Certification are strongly preferred. Full & Part Time positions available.
Nature Activity Specialist: (Full-time Seasonal)
The Nature Activity Specialist is responsible for coordinating and leading the Nature/ Environmental Education programs at Naticook Day Camp. The ideal candidate will have experience in nature or environmental education and should posses the ability to create lesson plans for campers of various different ages.
Adventure Activity Specialist: (Full-time Seasonal)
The Adventure Activity Specialist is responsible for coordinating and leading adventure education activities at Naticook Day Camp. The specialist will develop, plan and lead daily adventure challenge activities, nature hikes, canoe treks and other activities that help campers feel more comfortable in the outdoors and build life skills including communication, teamwork, trust, cooperation, and more in a safe and supportive environment. Candidates must be at lease 18 years of age and have experience in team building activities, problem solving, or low ropes skills.
Arts & Crafts Activity Specialists: (Full-Time Seasonal)
The Arts & Crafts Activity Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing and leading daily Arts & Crafts activities for children aged 5 - 14. Candidate must be at least 18 years of age and should have experience teaching arts & crafts activities to children and have a deep understanding of age appropriate activities.
Sports Activity Specialist:(Full-time Seasonal)
The Sports and Game Specialist is responsible for coordinating and leading the sports program at Naticook Day Camp. The specialist will develop, plan and lead daily sports activities for children aged 5 - 14. Candidate must be at least 18 years of age and should have experience teaching sports to children and a deep understanding of multiple sports and there rules.
Youth Tennis Instructor: (Part Time Seasonal)
The Youth Tennis Instructor is responsible for planning, designing and teaching Tennis Lessons for the Merrimack community. Position is part time but hours are flexible in nature. Candidate must be at least 18 years of age and have experience playing and teaching tennis to children.

The minimum age for any paid position with the Town of Merrimack is 16.
